We are back to more Half Square Triangles this month. Blocks 4 and 5 are identical piecing but show how color placement can change the look of a block. Block 4 has a light background while Block 5 is dark. I'm not sure which I like better!

We take a break from the Half Square Triangles this month. Blocks 2 and 3 are a variation of the classical Courthouse Steps block with the addition of the diagonal chain of squares. They each have identical pieces but the way that the fabrics are located give a completely different look between the two blocks.

Time to get started, woo hoo!  Here is the first block. It's big, but fairly simple. 

This is our Retro version. The fabric line is called Back Porch by Moda. Isn't is fun? We are offering three different lines but we probably won't show samples or blocks from all three of them each month.

We are participating in Moda's latest Sew Along/Block of the Month program, My Favorite Color is Moda, that runs from February to December 2021. They are featuring their line of Bella Solids but I will be showing you how to use print fabrics for a different look to the project. Plus, as designed, the quilt measures 81" x 99". I will show you how you can easily make two smaller quilts (59" x 81"), if you want.

The three print colorways that we will be featuring are Retro (Back Porch), Floral (Folk Tale), and Traditional (various lines).
